Dunamis Karate News - Feb. 2016 Printable Calendar/Newsletter/Tournament Form/Exam Request  Goodwill Tournament       Saturday, 2/27 Pre-registration is only $40 … but you must get your cashier’s check or money order in the mail before Feb. 20th!   Students can participate in one, two or three events for the Same Price!  Remember our school is honored to have been asked to perform a short demo.  We have begun working on our show in class and we will have our final practice run through during our belt graduation.

Fight Night Friday, 2/5  5:00 PM This class will work specific drills to improve your performance at the Goodwill Tournament.  The cost of the one hour class is only  $5.00.  The class is open to any Purple Belts and up who have their own sparring gear.  Male students must have a cup & supporter as well! Private Lesson Marathon Friday, 2/12 Sharpen your skills before belt testing with a One on One lesson with Mrs. Woods.  This private lesson marathon gives you a special discounted rate of only $25.  Space is limited so RSVP to reserve your spot between 3:00-6:00 ASAP! Belt Testing Saturday, 2/20 Jr. Beginners  10:00 AM Jr. Int./Adult Beg. 11 AM Jr. and Adult Adv.  2 PM Test Requirements - 80% Class AttendanceTuition payments up to date - Exam Request form with high marks (nothing lower than a 2) - Clean, Well Fitting White uniform - Flag Patch for Gold Belts & Up - UFAF Membership for Purple/White and Up

Belt Graduation        Friday, 2/26  5:30 PM Join us for a VERY SPECIAL belt graduation.  Following a demo by our students, we will have a special performance by the Combat Team, which will include some extreme breaking of boards and bricks.  Invite your family and friends to join us for this special celebration!

January 8        Movie Night    5:30-7:00         FREE EVENT             We have an amazing movie to share with you starring some real life karate kids just like you!  Bring your own snacks, sealable drinks and pillow/blankets for lounging on the mat.  UNDERDOG KIDS is full of action and laughs and we are certain you will enjoy it! January 22 & February 5        Fight Night      5:00-6:00         $5.00             Bring your gear and get ready to rumble!!  As we prepare for the Goodwill Tournament in February, we are offering these special classes so students can build their skills and their confidence before the competition.  These one hour class will cover drills to improve ability, timing and focus as well as some free sparring fun! January 29      Weapons Tournament Prep Class      5:00-6:00 / 6:00-7:00              $5.00             Do you want to compete with a weapon at the Goodwill Tournament?  Do you want to just learn a weapon for fun?  These classes are for you!  We offer training with the Bo Staff, Nunchucks, Bokken & Kamas.  Students may choose from any of these listed weapons!  The 5:00 class will be for BEGINNERS who have never worked with a weapon.  The 6:00 class will be for more experienced students … those who have used the weapon before!  The cost of the class is only $5. February 27    GOODWILL TOURNAMENT             Every year we look forward to attending the Goodwill Tournament, which is held in the Beaufort High School Gym on Lady’s Island.  This year, we have also been asked to do a short demo.  We want you to start planning now to attend.  The cost is only $40 and EVERY competitor will receive a beautiful 3’ trophy!  This is a great tournament with friendly competition and an awesome chance for our students to show off how amazing we are … with the demo and in the competition.  You will see we have several tournament prep classes this month to help students get prepared and we will have more in February!  We want YOU to be there.  We want YOU to compete!!  We want YOU to be in our demo!!  Start planning NOW!  We will have registration forms available soon! Private Lessons           Want to get some one on one help with a form, weapon or sparring before the tournament?  Miss Andi is available for private lessons this month at a discounted rate … only $15 for a ½ hour.  This Month Only!  Miss Andi is an experienced competitor and champion in forms, weapons & sparring and a private lesson with her is sure to up your game and help you reach the next level!  To schedule your class, please speak directly with Miss Andi!
