Regional Black Belt Test & Seminars  April 20-21 We have a regional Black Belt test (in which 2 of our students, Audrey & Emma Lowther, will be testing for their 1st Degree CKD Black Belts) planned for April 20-21 at Club Karate in Lady's Island.  The tests are open for anyone to watch.  The seminar are open and FREE to all UFAF members (no white belts). For complete details about the weekend, click HERE!   Bring a Friend Week April 23-26 All karate students and Cage Fitness clients are invited to BRING A FRIEND during the week of April 23-26th. Everyone who brings a friend will be entered into a drawing for cool prizes!   Karate Tees Pre-Order NOW Summer is quickly approaching and starting this month (April 23rd) students will be allowed to wear karate tees to class in place of their gi tops. We a few Dunamis tees and Hyper tees in stock, but not nearly enough for everyone, so we will be ordering a reprint of our "FIGHT" t-shirt design.  We will have a order form at the school for everyone to pre-order their choice of size & color.  All orders must be submitted THIS WEEK!   Join Our List There are several important things happening this month, so please be sure to mark your calendars so you don't miss anything! Hyper Dedication Camp Wednesday, April 11  9am-5pm  $50 Get ready to have fun learning the newest kicks, combinations, Jumpkick gymnastics skills, and form from Hyper Pro Marc Canonizado. In addition you will also learn what it takes to become the next High Performance Athlete in life through mastering Dedication! You don't want to miss this camp! Space is limited to 20 people, so register ASAP to reserve your spot!! All students who pass their tests will be a part of a short demonstration then receive their new ranks.  The entire graduation will take approximately an hour. Following the belt ceremony, we invite everyone to stay and watch a move.  We will lounge on the mat and watch the movie projected onto the wall.  Feel free to bring pillows, blankets, snacks and drinks.  All drinks must have a closeable top!  This is meant to be a family event.  We want families to enjoy the movie together!   New Website www.DunamisKarate.com We changed web hosts and as a result lost access to our website for a short period of time.  Mrs. Woods has been working to get it rebuilt and back online as quickly as possible and it is now 95% complete. Congratulations to everyone who passed their recent belt test.  We will test again in 8 weeks … mark your calendar!  The date will be April 18-19!

Belt Graduation     Friday, March 2^nd at 5:30pm                   Short demonstrations by all students followed by belt ceremony … will last about an hour. 

CKD Pre-Test           Saturday, March 3^rd at 10:00am            Filming Black Belt candidates for the upcoming test in April.

Hyper Park Day      Saturday, March 17^th at 10-11:00am    $5.00   Turpin Park  
Join the Hyper Pro-Training students for a karate session in the park.  We’ll work on jump kicks, spin kicks, karate “tricks” and more!  (This class is FREE to all current HPT students.)  HPT students – Bring your bo staffs because after the regular class, we will work an additional 15-20 minutes on your Hyper Bo Form.

Parent’s Night Out             Friday, March 23^rd  5:00 – 8:00pm          $15.00 – Ages 5-12
Join us for a night of fun games, challenges, food & a movie.  This party will be run & supervised by our special Dunamis Karate Teen Leaders!

Teen After Party                 Friday, March 23^rd  8:00 – 11:00pm       
After the young kids are dismissed our special teen leaders will have an “after party” consisting of music, movies, games & more!  See Mrs. Woods for details!

Tricking Seminar    Friday, March 30^th  McCleary Martial Arts, Powder Springs, GA  
Mr. Alex & Miss Andi will be teaching a “tricking” seminar to the students at McCleary Martial Arts.  Any students from Dunamis Karte wanting to take a road trip are welcome to attend.  See Mrs. Woods for more information!

Regional Black Belt Test & Workouts   Friday & Saturday, April 20-21
This event will be free to watch.  UFAF members will be allowed to participate in various age/rank specific seminars.  More details will be available as the event approaches.  If you are not a UFAF member and would like to join so you can participate in this and other official UFAF events, visit the pro-shop for more info!

Dunamis Karate Newsletter February 2012 February is going to be a very busy month ... starting with our Kick-a-Thon on the 3rd and finishing with the Goodwill Tournament on the 25th.  We really want to take a LARGE group of students to the tournament this year.  We won't have another one this close to home and the cost is only $40 if you pre-register by the 20th. Hyper Pro-Training Friday, Feb. 10th 5:00pm Hyper Pro-Training students ... Come work on sections 1 & 2 of the bo form we've been learning and be introduced to section 3. This class will give you a head start on Monday's class and better ensure we complete learning of the form before the Goodwill Tournament on Feb. 25th. This class is $10, but students are invited to stay an additional hour for the Tournament prep class that follows for FREE!   Tournament Prep Class - 1 Friday, Feb. 10th  6:00pm In preparation for the Goodwill Tournament on Feb. 25th, this class will help students brush up on their forms and weapons for competition. It's hard to believe, but 2012 is here already! We've got some super exciting things in the works for this coming year.  We will have a new class schedule and some class changes going into effect on Monday, Jan. 16th.  We want to sit down with each one of you to discuss the upcoming schedule/class changes to make sure each family is getting the program and class times that will be most beneficial. As you return to class this week, be sure you make time to come in and talk to Lindy or Allison!!      Leadership Training Friday, Jan. 13th  5:00-6:30pm Do you want to be a part of our Dunamis Karate Leadership Team? Do you want to learn valuable skills that will help you be a leader, not only at karate, but in all areas of life? This class is for you!!  Register now for only $25. Are you a current member of the Leadership Team?  You can take this course as a refresher for only $10.  Remember, that each team member must attend a minimum of 2 leadership trainings per year! Kid Power Kick-A-Thon Sign up On Jan. 18-19 Kick-A-Thon on Feb. 3rd This fun 1 hour workshop teaches kids the fundamentals of being successful while incorporating physical fitness and self protection.   KICK OUT BAD HABITS - KICK IN GOOD THOUGHTS - KICK IN GOOD GRADES -   KICK IN FITNESS - AND..... KICK IN SUCCESS    Students write their goals on the Success Board and learn how to break through the board into success! Students begin getting donations 2 weeks before the seminar. The day of the seminar, the students turn in their donations and attend the 1-hour Kick-a-thon seminar at the school. Tournament Prep Class Nunchucks!! Saturday, Jan. 21st         10AM - 11AM      $10 The Goodwill Tournament in Beaufort will be held on Feb. 25th. This special Tournament prep class will help students learn a nunchuck form to use in the competition. The cost is only $10... you will need to have your own chucks! In this time of New Year's Resolutions, I will leave you with this simple quote from Roland Osborne: "You can tell how good you will become by how easy you give up!"  For all of you vowing to lose weight, get in shape, keep your room or house clean, get better grades, pay off debt, etc ... Whatever your resolution ... let's allow the world to see how good we're going to be in 2012 by NOT giving up!
