May 2015

Another month has come and gone and we find ourselves quickly approaching summer. Starting this month, students will be allowed to wear approved karate t-shirts on the mat in place of their normal gi tops. Approved tees include: Dunamis Karate tees, Hyper Martial Arts tees, and Chun Kuk Do tees only. Please adhere to this school dress code. Also, we will once again be offering Dunamis Karate shorts that can be worn in place of gi pants. If you already have a pair of shorts, you can begin wearing them this month. If you don’t have any Dunamis shorts, stop by the pro-shop this week and order a pair for only $18.

Congratulations to our new Black Belt ranks: Emma Lowther 3^rd Degree CKD Black Belt, Jonah Lowther 2^nd Degree CKD Black Belt and Devin Mock 1^st Degree CKD Black Belt. The next Region 7 Black Belt test and workouts will be held Oct. 23-24 at McCleary’s Premier Martial Arts in Powder Springs, GA.

Belt Test Form

Monday, May 18^th Karate in the Park All ages & ranks will meet at the same time for a massive fun class at Turpin Park. The class will start at 5:00 PM and last 1 hour. If the parents agree, students may play on the playground after the class ends.
No classes will be held at Dunamis Karate - all classes will be combined at 5:00 in the park!

Our Summer Schedule will begin June 1^st. Stay tuned for more information regarding the summer class times.

Friday, May 22^nd – Private Lesson Marathon 4:00-6:00
Want to brush up on your skills prior to belt testing? Need extra help with techniques from class? Want some hands on One on One instruction? This is for you … Sign up to get a private lesson with Master Woods for only $25 per ½ hour.

We will be closed Monday, May 25^th in observance of Memorial Day. No classes will be held on this day!

We will be closed July 20-31 for training in Vegas. Watch for scheduled make up classes to be announced soon.

BELT TESTING – SAT MAY 30
We are almost ½ way through our class curriculum. That means we will hold our school belt testing very soon … Sat. May 30^th to be exact. Remember that 80% class attendance is required, all tuition payments must be up to date, and Purple/White belts & higher are required to have active UFAF membership in order to belt test. We will be able to have a belt graduation following this test on Friday, June 5^th at 5:30 PM. Each class will do a short performance then we will award each student with his/her new rank.
