Dunamis Karate Newsletter December 2020 Thankfully, 2020 is nearing an end and I think we would all agree that we look forward to a fresh start in 2021.  This final month of the year will have LOTS of schedule changes and announcements to be aware of so PLEASE READ THIS POST ENTIRELY! Printable Calendar We will be closed Nov. 30th - Dec. 6th for INSTRUCTOR TRAINING in Florida.  We have pre-recorded lessons for our students to practice with while we are closed. The videos are available in the RESOURCES tab of the Dunamis Karate App. Parents - make sure they practice with these videos on their normal class days at a minimum.  Additional days of practice with be very beneficial as belt testing is coming very soon! Action Hero Photo Shoot Tuesday, December 8th in RIDGELAND We would LOVE to have ALL of our students on our annual poster and it's absolutely FREE to have your photo included.   Simply sign up through the events tab or follow this link for a time slot.  If you have multiple students in your house, remember that each student needs his/her own time slot!! Due to Photo Day, NO CLASSES will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 8th! Private Lesson Marathon December 11-12 We are offering this special PRIVATE LESSON MARATHON to help make certain students are prepared for belt testing.  Because we are closed the first week of December and students will only have "pre-recorded" classes, we are offering these private lessons at an extreme discount... only $5.00. Check the list below to make sure you meet ALL the requirements: Clean Well-Fitting White Uniform Minimum 80% class attendance Tuition payments must be up to date Flag patch and Dunamis patch attached to uniform (Gold Belts & Up) Fight Night attendance (Purple Belts & Up) (Waived for this test due to COVID) Active UFAF membership with UFAF patch on the left chest (Purple & Up) Be sure to arrive at least 5 minutes early... If you are late to class, you may not be admitted! YOUR child!             At our Night At The Library Parent’s Night out, your child will follow along with custom interactive audio instructions that illustrate a vivid story, play games based on famous children’s books, and have a delicious snack too!  Register HERE for the Night At The Library Parent’s Night Out   NEW PURPLE BELTS When a student reaches the rank of PURPLE BELT, sparring becomes one of the requirements for their belt tests.  Students who are Purple Belts or higher are required to attend sparring class at least once every other month in order to be eligible to test.   Sparring gear is now set up and available in the retail section of the Dunamis Karate app and by using the discount code ' FIGHT ' you will save 25% on your sparring gear purchase.  So now is the perfect time to order and have it arrive before Christmas.   This sale will end on Dec. 13th, so get your gear ordered ASAP! HOW DO YOU ORDER SPARRING GEAR? First, you need to measure the circumference of the student's head. Then, you need to know his/her shoe size.   These are the sparring gear sizes according to our supplier.
