Dunamis Online Point Challenge

Dunamis Karate
Online Point Challenge

I know that with all of the craziness going on right now, it might be tough to give your kids a sense of normalcy. At Dunamis Karate, we want to help keep all of our students active and motivated to continue growing and becoming the best versions of themselves.

How do we plan on doing this?

Our team has put their heads together to come up with the ultimate point driven challenge that will help keep your child motivated and inspired when practicing at home. We call it the... 🥁🥁🥁

Dunamis Online Point Challenge!

How does it work?

For the next few weeks, our team will be live streaming classes and hosting online virtual training for all of our students. When your child participates in our online training classes, they will earn points each time. We will also provide other weekly challenges including a weekly Instructor Challenge along with other curriculum-based challenges.

The online training and challenges that we have set-up will not only earn your child points, but they will also help them to keep progressing towards their next belt at the same time. Awesome right?

What are the points for?

On Monday morning each week, we will go LIVE on Facebook for our Point Challenge Awards Show.  Every point that your child earns during the week will count towards one entry in our drawing where we will be giving away prizes like Dunamis Karate apparel, private lessons, gift cards, and more!

This challenge will begin TODAY with our first live-streaming class taking place tonight and the virtual training videos are live now in the Dunamis Karate app!

I hope that all of you are just as excited as our team for this amazing challenge.

1.     Students must wear a full uniform when working out in the live-streaming videos and replay class videos.  Let’s dress just like we do for regular class.  (Full gi is requested for the “bonus” virtual training as well.)
2.     Attend a LIVE-streaming class (or attend in person) and receive class credit plus 10 points.  Students must post a photo or video on FB tagging Dunamis Karate using the hashtag #DunamisOPC in order to receive these points.
3.     Students who attend the REPLAY of a class earn 7 points. Students must post a photo or video on FB tagging Dunamis Karate using the hashtag #DunamisOPC in order to receive these points.
4.     Students who work out with any bonus virtual training video or any curriculum training video from their rank level in the app will receive 5 points for videos posted on FB tagging Dunamis and using the hashtag or 3 points for photos tagging Dunamis and using the hashtag.
5.     Students who participate in the instructor challenges receive 5 points.  Students must post a video on FB tagging Dunamis Karate using the hashtag #DunamisOPC in order to receive these points.
6.     Students who submit videos of their training to Mrs. Woods through email, Facebook messenger or text will receive 5 points.  Mrs. Woods will evaluate your video and send feedback for your continued improvement.  You can then make the improvements and continue to send more videos.  (Like a private lesson by video.)
7.     Students can only post pics/videos from the same video once per day.  They can train with and earn multiple points from different videos … but only once per video per day.

Dunamis Karate March 2020 Newsletter

Dunamis Karate News March 2020

First, let me congratulate all of the students who competed at the Goodwill Tournament last month.  You guys made us So Proud!  You were able to pull off an impromptu demo with only 10 minutes prep time and you did a great job!  And we heard lots of good things about your competition... how well you did, how respectful you were, what great sportsmanships you had!  Hearing all this made us super happy!  And to top it off, we won the GIANT 6' trophy because our school had the most people in attendance ... 26 students ... That is a record for us!  THANK YOU!!!

Be sure to check our Facebook Page to see all the pics from the tournament!

Now, we are already in the 3rd month of this new year.  Time is going by way too fast!  This month we have some new things happening and we will be preparing for upcoming Black Belt tests and getting our Booster Club members ready for the International Training Conference in July.  Read on to learn more!
T-Shirt Weeks
As the weather gets warmer, students begin to complain about the hot uniforms... but we don't allow karate tees until May.  To help ease their grief and help some orphans in Liberia, West Africa, we will have "T-SHIRT WEEK" twice this month.
For a $1.00 donation each day,
students can wear a tee instead of their gi tops!

March 9-12 and March 23-26 ONLY!
Be Our Guest Parents Night Out
Friday, March 20th   6:00 - 9:00 PM

Get ready for our next Parent’s Night Out, one that is sure to enchant your kids' imagination … The Be Our Guest Parent’s Night Out!

Get ready to train like Hercules, fly on a magic carpet like Aladdin, and help Rapunzel escape during this limited-time event!

This "Be Our Guest Parent’s Night Out" will be one of our best yet!

What makes our events different than anything else is the time and imagination we put into all the games. We also love active team games - for example, your kids will be carrying a team member
on a blanket to help them learn to fly on a magic rug.

With an interactive story told throughout the night and during the games, it is sure to be a magical event like no other. We want your kids to have so much fun that they’ll be talking about it for days!
