Dunamis Karate Newsletter December 2020 Thankfully, 2020 is nearing an end and I think we would all agree that we look forward to a fresh start in 2021.  This final month of the year will have LOTS of schedule changes and announcements to be aware of so PLEASE READ THIS POST ENTIRELY! Printable Calendar We will be closed Nov. 30th - Dec. 6th for INSTRUCTOR TRAINING in Florida.  We have pre-recorded lessons for our students to practice with while we are closed. The videos are available in the RESOURCES tab of the Dunamis Karate App. Parents - make sure they practice with these videos on their normal class days at a minimum.  Additional days of practice with be very beneficial as belt testing is coming very soon! Congratulations on Earning Your Purple Belt

Congratulations on earning your PURPLE BELT! 

As a purple belt, you will move up to the Intermediate Level of training.  There will be a lot of new challenges in this level including new kicks and learning new forms.  

Now that you are a purple belt, you need to join the United Fighting Arts Federation.  

UFAF is the governing body for the Chuck Norris System and you must be a member in order to continue training and receive any higher ranks ... and eventually a BLACK BELT!  UFAF requires a minimum of 30 months of membership before students are allowed to test for black belt, so we want to get your membership started NOW so that when you reach Red/Black belt, you will have the required time in and be eligible to try for your Black Belt.   Visit www.UFAF.org and click "become a member" then first time member to join.  We are Dunamis Karate in Region 7!

You will also be required sparring now.  

We hold the Hyper Fight Club classes at least once a month on Saturday mornings.  We go over sparring skills and drills then work them on a partner in sparring matches.  Sparring is part of the black belt test, but we can't wait until black belt to start doing it.  We start at purple belt.  You will be required to attend at least one Hyper Fight Club sparring class per test cycle in order to be eligible to test for your next rank!  To attend the HFC sparring class, you will need to purchase your sparring gear!

Dunamis Karate November 2020 Newsletter It's hard to believe we only have 2 months left in this year ... but I think all of us would agree, we are ready to see 2020 come to a close! We have a LOT of things going on this month and you're not going to want to miss any of it, so be sure to read everything in detail, register early for events so you are sure to get a spot, and mark your calendars so you don't forget!!  Printable Calendar This week we return to our FULL UNIFORMS. Students will be required to wear full uniforms to all classes (except Hyper Pro Training and Krav Maga Fit). Kung Fu Here Parents Night Out Friday, November 20th  6-9pm Do You Need a Night Off  Do You Need a Night Off  Wouldn’t it be great if you had a night of pure, blissful silence in your house? No kids fighting or running around screaming . No crazy messes to clean up  Think it’s too good to be true? In comes Dunamis Karate to the rescue!! Bring your child to the Kung Fu Hero Parents Night Out on Friday, November 20th from 6-9pm and finally get that night of peace and quiet that you’ve been dreaming of. Hyper Fight Club Camp Saturday, 11/21. 10am-12pm in Ridgeland This Hyper Fight Club Camp is a 2-hour event held in Ridgeland. This class mixes a fusion of martial arts sparring combinations, self-defense techniques and drills, plyometrics, combat sprints, sparring games, music, workshops, and special events to inspire the world’s top martial arts athletes.  Purple Belts & up! Must have your own sparring gear! We will be closed on November 25-26 for Thanksgiving.  No classes will be held on Wednesday or Thursday because of the holiday!  We will be closed November 30 through December 3rd Mrs. Lindy and Ms. Andi Lynn will travel to Florida for 6 days of continued training.  We will pre-record lessons for students to train with on the days we are gone.  To ensure our students are prepared for belt testing despite the lost class time, we will hold a private lesson marathon on December 11-12.  The Monday/Wednesday Tiny Tiger and Beginner classes in Hampton will continue as usual.
