Dunamis Karate Facebook Page Remind Updates RIDGELAND Remind Updates HAMPTON Dunamis App Apple IOS Dunamis App Google Play Dunamis Members Facebook Group Printable Calendar Printable Exam Request Form Gopher Hill Festival Details Our students will be performing for the Gopher Hill Festival on Saturday, 10/5 at 12:30 PM.  Students MUST have the 2019 Gopher Hill tee in order to participate.  If you didn't already purchase one, see one of our instructors ASAP! No Class Thursday, 10/3 due to the festival.  MANY of our students will be participating in festival events on Thursday evening starting with the "Kidz Parade" at 6:00 pm then the talent show following.  Please come out and support the events. Friday, 10/4, we will hold Gopher Hill practice at 5pm.  We ask all students to make their best effort to attend.  The practice will last about an hour then you will be free to attend the festival street dance after. Saturday, 10/5, we will meet at the dojo for one final practice at 11:30 then walk over to Main St. for our performance at 12:30.  Students will need to be dressed in their traditional white pants (or club pants), Gopher Hill tee, belt . and SNEAKERS! During the festival, our Dunamis Karate Booster Club (YES, we really have our own booster club) will be selling gourmet popcorn, cotton candy, lemonade, and tea.  Please consider making some of your snack purchases from us!  Side Note: The booster club still has some 90-minute time slots open.  If you are willing to volunteer and want to learn more about the benefits available to booster club members, contact Britney Kreisz at 731-336-2690. Friday, October 11 6:00 - 8:00 PM Our Penny Wars is coming to an end and the winning team, BOYS or GIRLS, will get this Dip - Duck - Dodge Parents Night Out absolutely FREE!  The losing team can still attend the event but must pay $15! All proceeds will go back into the booster club. REGISTER Would you like a $50 gift card? Our Hampton students will be selling raffle tickets for $1.00 each starting October 14th.   Four people will have a chance to win one of 4 different $50 gift cards - to Walmart, Best Buy, Target, or Amazon.   All sales must be turned into Ms. Alicia by November 26th.  The winner will be drawn at random on November 27th. Students are encouraged to sell as many as possible because there will be a prize for the top seller! For more information, contact Ms. Alicia at (803) 842-3638 Monday & Tuesday - October 14-15 Belt Testing During Class Time Test fee must by paid by Sunday, 10/13 or a $10 late fee will be added!!   Pay through the app and there is no need for paperwork.  Pay by cash or check and you will need to bring the printed exam request form (see link below). Check the list below to make sure you meet ALL the requirements: Clean Well-Fitting White Uniform Minimum 80% class attendance Tuition payments must be up to date Test fee paid prior to test start date or a $10 late fee will be added (pay through the app and no paper test form is required.  Pay by cash or check and we will need this TEST FORM turned in as well!) So give yourself a night off while your child gets to experience a fun night of fighting off zombies, being silly, and having a great time with friends. They can wear costumes! Kids love dressing up like their favorite superhero, princess, or Halloween monster. Plus, their Halloween costume will get even more use instead of being a “one and done”. Activities that can’t do anywhere else! Whether it’s turning each other into zombies, doing scavenger hunts, bowling for zombies, or barricading themselves in bunkers, your child is going to get a Halloween experience unlike any other! Space is Limited so Register Now! RIDGELAND - HAMPTON Summer is officially over and so are the "summer uniforms."  Starting November 1, all students will need to be in FULL UNIFORM for classes. The only classes that will be allowed to wear tees are Hyper Pro Training and Krav Maga!

The Hampton bake sale was a huge success! Thank you to all the parents and family members who made it possible. The PENNY WARS will officially kick off on September 3rd and run through October 2nd. This year’s theme is Boys vs Girls!  So search high and low and bring in all the pennies and other loose change you can find to support your team. The winning team will receive a FREE Parents Night Out Fun Night and BRAGGING RIGHTS!!  The fun night will be Friday, October 11th from 6pm-8pm. The Winners get to attend for FREE. The losing team can attend for $15.00.   The theme for the fun night will be the most popular one we've had yet ... "Dip, Duck, Dodge PNO" ... Dodgeball Games!!! The cost of the tees is $20 (plus tax/fees).  Proceeds from the sales will go to the ITC fundraising. Order by 9/12! PARENTS - We have special Dunamis Karate Mom, Dad, Grandparent tees for you.  You can choose to go with the same tie-dyed gray to match the Gopher Hill tees or choose Black or Teal tees.  There is an order form on the counter for you to order. All without sitting in front of any screens 🙌. Woo! Our awesome team of Instructors has put together some amazing angry bird themed games that your kids are going to go crazy for. It will be a night for them and their friends to remember forever! Here are my five favorite games that I think your kids will love too! 1. Spoiled Egg - Think hot potato with an angry birds twist 2. Bird Bomber - Exactly what it sounds like. Ready, Aim, Sling! 3. Nothing but Nest! - Angry Birds vs Evil Cows in an epic race to shoot eggs (dodgeballs) into a nest 4. Flight of the Birds - Think sharks & minnows but angry bird style 5. Eggs in a Basket - Relay races that require the kids to move fast while balancing objects And here is the best part! At our parents night out, kids don’t just play games. They become part of an interactive story that makes the games even more exciting. P.S. Do you think your child would have even more fun with a friend? Each student is allowed to bring one (non-member) guest for free! A Toy's Life Parents Night Out Friday, September 20th - RIDGELAND 6:00 - 9:00 PM We will be playing some amazing Toy Story inspired games with your kids and their friends. Your kids will get to ...   Create their own Sporky Go through the Space Ranger Obstacle Course Go on a Scavenger Hunt Escape from being sold at a Garage Sale and have an amazing night of fun with their friends (and instructors) It is the perfect place for our students to make even more friends or bring friends of their own. That means that your child can bring their favorite deputy along for a night of obstacle courses, relay races, dodgeball, and more fun games! Space is Limited - Register NOW! Once again, our Ridgeland students will be preparing for a performance at the annual Gopher Hill Festival on Saturday, October 5th.  (Any Hampton students who would like to participate are more than welcome to do so ... just make sure you order the GH tee through the app!) As we prepare for our big show, we will take the week of 9/30-10/2 to focus solely on the performance.  All classes will be drilling for the big show! We will be closed on Thursday, 10/3 so that students can attend the Gopher Hill Kidz parade, Talent Show and all the other festivities.  On Friday, 10/4 we will hold a BIG practice for ALL students.  It will start at 5pm and end at 6pm so you'll still be able to attend the GH evening events. On Saturday, we will meet after the parade to practice at 11:30ish AM then we will walk over to Main Street for our performance. BE SURE TO ORDER YOUR GH TEE THROUGH THE APP BY SEPTEMBER 12TH!!!  Friday, October 11 . 6:00-8:00 PM Dip - Duck - Dodge Parents Night Out The PENNY WARS Winners get to attend for FREE. Powder Springs Premier Martial Arts in Powder Springs, GA will be hosting the fall black belt test and seminars for Region 7.  All UFAF members are invited to attend the event FREE of charge!  If you have questions, see Mrs. Woods. We will be belt testing our students during class on Monday & Tuesday, October 14-15. All students who successfully pass the evaluation will need to be at class on Wednesday, 10/16, (or Thursday 10/17, for Hampton beginners) for BELT GRADUATION!  This will be a celebration event and the perfect time to invite family and friends to watch the students receive their new belts! What's Happening In August??

Dunamis Karate News August 2019 No one wants to admit it but summer is practically over and it's time to settle back into the groove of work and school.  The end of summer also means the end of our "summer schedule."  August 12th we will be returning to our "full" schedule and we are making some MAJOR changes.  So please read carefully and don't hesitate to ask if you have questions. Lindy Woods (843) 226-0889 Printable Calendar  Printable Schedule   NEW SCHEDULE Starting August 12th We always try to provide a convenient schedule for our students to attend classes and we do our best to provide quality classes developing the necessary skills to pass the Chuck Norris System Black Belt test. But sometimes we want to teach other stuff ... the fun stuff that's not on the test.  Like nunchucks, sword, kamas, bo staff or jiu-jitsu.  However, our normal class schedule doesn't allow time for those things. That's why this year we are bringing back our BLACK BELT CLUB and our MASTERS CLUB. The Black Belt Club will be an upgrade program that provides students the option of learning some of these extra skills.  The program will include: 3 Classes Per Week Advanced Self-Defense and Drills Weapons training: single nunchuku, bokken, and bo staff Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Training Blue Uniform Top and Black Pants with Blue Stripes Bo Staff The Master Club will be an upgrade program that provides students the option of learning some even higher level skills including: 4 Classes per Week Competitive Sparring Advanced Weapons: Kama, Bo, Double Nunchuku, and Bokken Advanced Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Red Uniform Top and Black Pants with Red Stripes Pair of Kamas We are also going to be adding a Hyper Pro Training Level 1 and Level 2.  The Level 1 class will cover the basics of the Hyper or XMA curriculum and build the skills needed to move up to the Level 2 class.  Before moving up, students will have to meet a list of pre-set requirements. The Hyper Pro Training class will include: Hyper or "Extreme" XMA Martial Arts Training Hyper Fitness Skill Building Basic Tricking Advanced Tricking (Level 2) Hyper Pro Training Tee and Black Pants with White Stripes. Expect to hear from our instructors over the next few days to discuss your or your child's program options and what we feel will be the best fit for your needs and to explain the new class schedule! Friday, August 9th at 5:00 PM Purple belts and up must ... all their sparring gear and come ready for a great night of sparring drills and challenges!  Remember, this is part of your belt test requirements!  Register and pay via the Dunamis Karate app or bring $5 cash! These audio instructions create a one of a kind interactive story that will have your kids talking about this event for days on end! Get ready for your kids to learn how to duel with swords, cast magical spells, and quest to take down the evil king during our Castles & Dragons Parent’s Night Out! So if you want to shake up your family fun and give the kids a night of using their imagination instead of playing video games on another Friday night, be sure to get them registered for the Castles & Dragons Parent’s Night Out! But remember… Spots are Limited… and always fill up FAST… So be sure to Register Now!

Dunamis Karate Newsletter July 2019 Our summer is flying by and we trust that all our youth students are enjoying the "NINJA SUMMER" theme classes while the adults and teens are continuing to learn some great self-defense.  July is going to be especially fast paced so be sure to mark all the upcoming events/changes on your calendar. We have crafted an event like no other, with everyone's favorite show in mind - Pokemon! Your kids will get the chance to design their own Pokemon inspired monster, learn from Professor Evergreen how to be a master trainer, and defeat Team Galaxy in a duel that they will be raving about for weeks! Best of all? Your kids will be using their imaginations and playing active games all night!
