Dear Students,   It's hard to believe, but this year is almost over.  This is the last newsletter for the year 2011!  Although this month will be short due to the holidays, there are some important things happening - namely belt testing & graduation.  Be sure to read over the testing requirements so you'll be prepared on Dec. 14-15th. Also, you'll find the download links for the Dec. Personal Achievement Academy Homework, the Dec. Calendar and the Exam Request Forms at the bottom of this newsletter.     Belt Testing - Dec. 14 & 15         Remember the requirements: Gold Belts & Higher - Full white uniform with Dunamis Patch on right shoulder & Flag Patch on Left Shoulder  Purple White & Higher - Must wear full white uniform with Dunamis Patch on right shoulder, Flag patch on left shoulder and UFAF patch on left chest. Must be active UFAF members!     (If you are testing for Purple/Orange or higher, you MUST be a UFAF member.  Click here to register!    Let me know if you need assistance.) All class levels will put on a short performance then the students will receive their new belt ranks. The graduation will last about an hour. Bring your own popcorn/snacks and drinks WITH A LID! (We ask that parents not leave small children unattended during this time.) What movie will be watch?  At this moment in time, we are undecided ... we are open to suggestions!  Email Mrs. Woods   Krey Lee Update Many of you know our Jr. Black Belt, Krey Lee Lowther, had brain surgery just over 2 weeks ago to remove a section of malfunctioning arteries in his brain.  God protected him and he made it through the surgery with a complete success and never asked for pain meds as he recovered in the hospital.  He is recovering at home now with his family but it could be several more months before he is released to go back to "normal activity" and karate classes because his skull is still knitting back together.  Continue to lift Krey Lee, Faye and Krey Sr. in your prayers as they go through this recovery process together.

DUNAMIS KARATE Newsletter October 2011 In This Issue Gopher Hill Festival Belt Graduation Leadership Training Belt Testing Kick-R-Treat Party Gopher Hill Festival The Gopher Hill Festival is Saturday, October 1st.  Our karate school is scheduled to perform at 1:00pm. We will have a practice on Friday, Sept. 30th at 4:30pm for about an hour. Then we ask everyone to meet at the karate school Saturday at 12:00pm so we can get one last practice in before the performance at 1:00pm Remember the dress code: White Gi Pants, Red or Blue "whatever" shirt, karate belt and Sneakers!!!   Quick Links October Calendar October Newsletter Homework - coming soon! Join Our Mailing List Belt Graduation Family & Friends are invited to come and celebrate the success of our students as they receive their rank promotions on Friday, Oct. 28th. All class levels will put on a short performance starting at 5:30pm then the students will receive their new belt ranks. The graduation will last about an hour.    Regional Workouts & Black Belt Test Oct. 21 - 22nd in New Smyrna Beach, Fl, Master Steve Hammersley and American Martial Arts Training will host the Regional Black Belt test and seminar for all ages & ranks.  This event is FREE to all UFAF members.  If you would like more information, please see Mrs. Woods.   We've got a lot of things happening in October including Leadership Training, Belt Testing, Belt Graduation and our annual "Kick-R-Treat" party, so please read over this newsletter and mark your calendars so you don't miss anything. Sincerely,   Lindy Woods DUNAMIS KARATE (843) 226-0889   Leadership Training For Current & Future Team Members Friday, October 14th from 5:30 until 7:00pm we will have a Leadership Training Class.  This class is for anyone over the age of 6 who wishes to be a part of the leadership team.  You will learn valuable information, to help you not only in karate, but to help you be a leader in life. The cost is $25. If you are already a member of the Leadership Team, you can attend for only $10.  Remember you must attend at least 2 training classes per year.  This will be the last one for 2011, so you don't want to miss it!   Belt Testing   Our next student belt testing will be on Wed. & Thurs., Oct. 19th & 20th.  Remember the requirements: Gold Belts & Higher Must wear full white uniform with proper patches in place ... This year we will party outside with fun equipment from Jumpin' Jax ... the "Adrenaline Rush Obstacle Course" and the "Dalmation Dog Jumpy House."     The party and the food are FREE, but there will be a small fee of $5 per person to jump.    Dunamis Karate will provide hotdogs and water with flavor packets.  (If you want something else to drink, you are welcome to bring it.)   We ask our students to provide the following:  Tiny Tigers - bring Chips & bag of Candy  Beginners - Bring Desserts & bag of Candy  Intermediates - Bring Paper Plates & bag of Candy  Advanced - Bring Napkins & bag of Candy  Black Belts - Bring Forks & bag of Candy

Belt Testing 4.5 Weeks & Counting Dear Lindy, Our next belt testing will be on October 19th & 20th and we want to give the parents/students plenty of time to be prepared.
